An essay is, generally speaking, essentially a written piece that provide the author’s main argument, but the specific definition is quite vague, encompassing people of an essay, a report, a novel, an oral speech, pamphlets, and even a short story. Generally, essays are categorized into two general classes: formal and informal. Formal essays are composed texts which express serious academic ideas and arguments, while casual ones have been written for entertainment purposes or for publication. An essay can be either literary or storyline. Literary essays deal mostly with issues of thought and emotion.
